SHARK(or as we like to call them, beaver shark) when we played Austin this past sunday, and finally NAVAJO CODE last night when we played the glasshouse in Pomona, CA. Both bands are really effing good and you should check them out! they are great doods as well. we are really looking forward to the next few weeks with our new friends. tonight we are playing Black Box Studios in lovely San Diego. If your in the area, come out and say hi! also, the website has finally been remodeled, we're really happy with the way it turned out! check it out! WWW.BULLETTRAINTOVEGAS.COM and the new full length "WE PUT SCISSORS WHERE OUR MOUTHS ARE" is in stores now. so go pick it up at you local music store, or you can order it online HERE.more pictures on the way... love,BTTV
Ok ok we know its been like a month since we updated this thing… Greg wants to blame it on a nomadic wizard who won all our fingers in an intense game of guess who…thus making it impossible to type. But guess who is only a 2 player game, and there are 4 of us. Making it kind of impossible for a wizard to win all of our fingers in a single game…and with that, we are going to summarize everything that’s happened since the last entry, and get with the current events… Man, I think where we last left off with the hoopla was when we saw that piece of shit meteor crater. Oh, and the show in Austin with the trail of dead . Ok well after that, we made way to Houston … it was good times as we made new friends with the 2 new bands. A band from Dallas called UGLY COLORS, and the local Houston band HEIST AT HAND...the turn out was whatever, but we had a lot of fun. Unfortunately, we had the next couple days off after that, but the heist at hand kids were nice enough to let us occupy their floors and watch there bootleg dvd’s. they also allowed us to use their practice space for a couple of hours so we could work on a new jam tentatively titled EXTRA DOOM. Its named after a slurpee machine that isn’t named extra doom at all… After what seemed like a month in texas, we made our way to new Orleans to get some huge ass beers and hand grenades. Got some vegan gumbo at this place called the Gumbo Shop. Then proceeded to take a trolly car out of the French quarter to see something different. We saw 2 bums argue over a walking stick. After that we started driving to Birmingham Alabama where we play to the least amount of people that we have ever played to, to date… it was fun though, it was basically band practice, but the bar gives you money and a shit ton of free booze. After that we drove to Hotlanta Georgia to start our week with label mates THE LETTERS ORGANIZE...All the shows we did with them were great turn outs and really fun. In we had some drama with one particular venue though. The owner was accusing bands of breaking things. the cops were called and they put one of the dudes from letters in hand cuffs. Even though he didn’t do anything. The owner wanted $$$ to keep from pressing charges. Then he started throwing our shit around and told everyone to get out...The guy sucks… eventually, everything got sorted and the cuffs were removed... we had a lot of fun that week, and hope that we get to play more shows (or do a tour) with Letters in the not so distant future… After that, we start heading up the east coast… Got the finger from Richmond, VA. Played what could have been a great show in DC, if the kids didn’t get busted/ sent home for drinking and doing drugs outside of the venue right before we went on. Make our way to NYC to meet up with our friends NAKATOMI PLAZA...if there is one band you should check out, it is this one. They have a new record that they are shopping around right now, but you can hear tracks from it on their myspace page. Also, if you didn’t know, Jay Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines) produced it! We play a show at the Knitting Factory that apparently was over sold by like 10 tickets, which is awesome! But we played downstairs and had to throw our backs out by carrying all of our equipment down and then back up 3 flights, which was not awesome. We continue to do a week with Nakatomi and end up in Eriks and Martys home town of Bath, NY. We play what is the biggest show in Bath ever!!! It was at the Days Inn and over 200 kids came. The bill was Marathon, Nakatomi Plaza, Bullet Train, The Red Death, and Erik and Marty’s side project The Martyr Magdalene… to follow this show was probably the most intense donut eating contest ever. Between 2 champion donut eating Mikes, Mike Murray and Mike Wilkenson. Murray’s “pace himself” strategy was no match for Wilkensons “see how many he can fit in his mouth at one time strategy”. Wilkenson dominated Murray from the strike of the bell. 13 to 10 was the final… From there we started heading back west…had an amazing show in Springfield, Missouri. Eventually make it to Seattle, WA where we play the vera project with our friends Akimbo. We pick up our new roadie Dylan, and make our way back to LA…we had a day off and it just so happened to be june 7th, so we all went to the stores to see our record on the shelves. Packed our bags back up, and started heading out to Albequerque, NM to meet up with PLANES MISTAKEN FOR STARS. . Which brings us up to date…

more updates sooooooooon.
Discalaimer/Warning. this entry is going to be kind of stupid long. we've been trapped in this giant piece of land most commonly known as Texas for the better part of the last week of our lives. it was only moments ago that we crossed into Louisiana, a state that until just now, we thought to be completely mythical. we'll try to keep it short, but we have a few days to account for. we left our protaganists after their big rock show in El Paso, TX.... with fresh haircuts we mounted up the morning after El Paso and started what would soon become the longest drive of our lives. if anyone has ever done the drive from El Paso to Dallas, you know what we're talking about. as a band we have clocked in longer drives, but something about this stretch, makes it totally fucking unbearable. after many hours of driving, sleeping, VB's (if you don't know what that means, you never will.) and desert air induced psychosis we finally decided to take a break. Marty and Greg were at the controls and decided we needed to stretch our legs and take in some local scenery. we happened upon a little town called Odessa, TX. there are two things that make this town just about the worst place ever. the first being George w. bush is from here, and the 2nd and more animate claim to fame is the Odessa meteor crator. how exciting we thought, "a meteor crator", so we exited with haste and total anticipation. well to make a long story short, the crator didn't quite live up to the hype. a slight dent in the earths surface filled with bushes and dirt paths, it looked more like an abandoned archeological site then the point of impact for a falling ball of fire some thousands of years ago. upon realization that this was 20 minutes of our lives we would never regain, we gave the crator the finger, and got back on the road. let's talk about the show in Denton for a moment. Marty had the perfect mix in his monitor, and we had a lot of fun playing to the people that came out. thanks to Jeremy from canary beat for getting scissors tattooed on his arm in our honor, and for putting us up with a place to stay. ok, moving on... we made our way to Austin, TX which we knew was going to be a blast. we were giddy with anticipation to play with ...trail of dead in their hometown, little did we know about what the night had in store for us. To begin, we rolled up to Emo’s to find out there was this huge street fest going on. After several calls to the venue, and the bribing of a few street cops, we got through the road block and were able to unload. With several hours to kill before the show, we decided to take in some of the local flavor and wander around the street fair for awhile. What flavor you ask, well, that of course would be the delicious smartie like tang of the glorious malt beverage known as Sparks. After posing for a few sparks publicity photos, we decided to head over to one of the outdoor stages to see eriks dad play in his new metal band. They were really great, and erik was so proud of his dad’s fresh moves on stage, especially in his ironic pink sunglasses. Finally, we moved on in search of one last necessity before the show. We needed some serious unicorn neck paintings. We finally settled on a “Persian” woman who was in the September of her years. She had been a PHD in her home country before revolution tore it apart, and she fled to america where she now makes her living doing face paintings. God bless america, and our land of opportunity!!! With some fresh unicorns on our necks, we were ready to rock, so we headed back to emos to get everything ready for the big event. Again, long story short (I know, to late.) the show was amazing, and we had a ton of fun playing to a huge Austin crowd. ….trail of dead was amazing as usual, but we also played with this other great band called Cue. Check them out at www.cueaustin.com it’ll be well worth your time. We finally loaded out around 3 am because we were forced to wait insided as a gang fight erupted outside of the adjacent venue in which some people got maced and stabbed. So right now, fatigue is setting in, so we're going to sum up the next 4 days as quickly as possible. The show in Houston was fun, and we made friends with some very cool bands. Heist At Hand from Houston and this amazing band from dallas called Ugly Colors. Amazing instrumental stuff in the vein of Tortoise and Explosions In The Sky. Check ‘em out at www.uglycolors.com. We hung out in Houston for a couple of days, watched a lot of movies, practiced at the “Heist” rehearsal room and finished a song tentatively titled “extra doom”. Marty was ganged up on by a crew of roaches, but he managed to fight them off swiftly, and quietly. Next, we made our way to Baton Rouge wear we met up with our friend Debbie who took us to New Orleans 2 times in the last two days. She’s been very kind to us. Vegan gumbo in new Orleans was delicious. 3 days off with no shows is starting to drive us insane. We head out to Birmingham tomorrow, so we’ll have plenty more to talk about in the next couple days. Sweet dreams, Bttv Current statistics: Burritos consumed: 65 Cliff bars consumed: 13 Sparks consumed: 32 VB’s: 12 Current status: Dan: sleeping Erik: the new ryan adams Marty: Bartles & Jaymes Greg: looking for phone charger Current quote(s): Dan: “have you read my lyrics??? They’re fuckin bullshit!!!” Greg: “we’re from a little town called California… You might have heard of it, it’s right next to the USA.”
so it was about an hour or two outside of el paso that a series of strange events took place. the first was almost tragic, as we came desperately close to losing marty to a grizzly bear. marty remembering his training in the back alley boxing gyms of philly, was able to knock out his one good eye with a bone crushing left hook. just when we thought we were safe, the bears best friend, a raging mare, reared up and tried to trample greg and marty. luckily, gregs mustache has excellent negotiating skills and was able to talk our way out of certain doom. after the misunderstanding was all cleared up, we went back across the street and shared a box of popcicles. they were banana, and delicious! after our savory frozen snacks with our new best friends Corvette the horse, and T-rex the bear we were soon on our way. it was at this point when something even stranger happened....we signed autographs! we were getting ready to pull out of the gas station when a couple of kids with mohawks and atreyu shirts approached our van. greg was the first to see them, and thought we were in trouble with some small town "locals", so he grabbed his cell phone and pulled up Corvette and T-rex's numbers just in case we needed their assistance. dan rolled down the window and the kids are like "who are you guys?" it wasn't looking good, so greg punched into his cell phone the universal code to our new compatriots to let them know we were in a "situation". after dan responded nervously with a quiet "we're bullet train to vegas" everything changed. not because they were now suddenly excited, but because they were confused with this statement. they clearly didn't know who the fuck we were. that however didn't stop these little shavers from braving up and asking us for a couple of quick autographs. with nothing to write on, one kid handed us his shoe, and the other his shirt. after signing their goods, they ran from the van doing some sweet spin kicks that rivaled anything we've seen at a story of the year show, hopped in their car and sped off. the weirdness didn't stop there however. as we rolled up to the t lounge in el paso, some kids ran up to our van before we even shut it off, and demanded autographs. truly fucking bizarre. seriously though, el paso is one of our new favorite places to play, this town rules, and the kids here are incredible. Finish the Fight opened, and that band rules. michael, the singer, has a brutal voice!! after the show, erik got drunk and passed out standing up in the shower. when he came to, he got out, and greg jumped in. while greg showered, erik managed to give himself a haircut, and then when greg got out, erik gave him one too. not before seeing gregs gourd however, much to his dismay. Current Statistics: Burritos consumed: 40 cliff bars consumed: 8 Sparks consumed: 20 current status: dan: driving erik: neck beard marty: phone greg: vegan jerky and peanut chews current quote: erik: "i'm sick of your snake bites biting at the future!"

"marty! you know who's reallly funny???" love, the bullet train publicist
we're currently on a desolate stretch of highway on the way to el paso...we thought we'd take a moment to reflect... we've been on tour now since friday the 22nd and eriks jet pack that is fueled by sparks has already broken down 3 times. people are starting to call him an alcoholic, but that's because they can not fathom the necessity of said jet pack. brief show overview: san diego-sick as fuck. dan's house-marty was sick as fuck! LA, Vegas, Cedar City, Phoenix...combined attendance...7. but we rocked them all. total burritos consumed thus far: 25 they were all delicious. cliff bars consumed: 4 sparks count: an accurate number would be difficult to gauge. perhaps 16. current status: dan-driving erik-drunk greg-mustache marty-computer number of purple mercury's with fuzzy leopard speakers and the back half of the top cut off: 1 pool games played: 10 quote of the tour: ROCK BAND! (dan-at the hoover dam check point.) tonight, we rock El Paso! currently seeing signs for "the thing" in the desert. kind of making us uncomfortable, so we've locked the doors. if anybody knows what the hell this "thing" is, please let us know.

The band will release their debut full-length, We Put Scissors Where Our Mouths Are, June 14th. Shunning any apparent influence from their sunny, palm tree-lined Southern California surroundings, We Put Scissors Where Our Mouths Are is a finely-sharpened attack of angular, Gang Of Four–esque guitars mixed with a disjointed and infectious songwriting sensibility. Produced by Alex Newport (At The Drive In, The Icarus Line) We Put Scissors Where Our Mouths Are follows up 2003's Letterbomb-release, Profile This EP. Bullet Train to Vegas is getting ready to tour the US, including select dates with And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, The Letters Organize, Please Mr. Gravedigger, plus others (see tour dates below). The band will then head to the West Coast/Southwest area for two and a half weeks with Planes Mistaken For Stars and Bear Vs.
